A man was killed, and a woman sustained injuries after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole in Monterey Park early Thursday morning, March 13, 2025.
According to the Monterey Park Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 3:47 a.m. in the 1100 block of West Garvey Avenue near Atlantic Boulevard.
Authorities determined that the vehicle struck a utility pole along the south sidewalk of Garvey Avenue.
The male driver was found inside the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending notification of his family.
A female passenger was found outside the vehicle and was transported to Los Angeles General Medical Center with minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
