[03-07-2025] Two Killed, One Injured After Pickup Truck Hits Power Pole in MeccaTwo people were killed, and a third person sustained minor injuries after a traffic collision sent a pickup truck into a power pole in Mecca, Riverside County, on Friday morning, March 7, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. near the intersection of 68th Avenue and Grant Street.

Authorities reported that a red Toyota Tacoma was traveling northbound on Grant Street when it collided with a black Toyota Tundra heading westbound on 68th Avenue.

The impact caused the Tundra to overturn and crash into a power pole, seriously injuring a man and a woman inside. Both victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene within 25 minutes.

A 25-year-old man inside the Tacoma sustained minor injuries in the crash.

CHP stated that drugs and alcohol are not suspected as factors in the collision. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

The crash remains under investigation.
