A woman sustained major injuries following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Heber and Anderholt Roads in Imperial County early Wednesday morning, February 12, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 6:00 a.m. when a pickup truck traveling northbound on Anderholt Road entered the path of an eastbound SUV on Heber Road.
The pickup truck driver, a 52-year-old woman who was reportedly unrestrained, suffered major injuries. She was airlifted by Mercy Air to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the SUV, a 47-year-old man wearing a seatbelt, sustained minor injuries and was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
