[01-22-2025] Two Seriously Injured In Bakersfield Two-Vehicle Crash At Olive And Knudsen DrivesTwo people sustained major injuries following a two-vehicle collision at the Olive and Knudsen Drives intersection in northwest Bakersfield late Wednesday night, January 22, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 11:31 p.m. when a Toyota Camry heading eastbound on Olive Drive ran a red light before crashing into a Mini Cooper heading southbound on Knudsen Drive.

The impact sent one of the vehicles to crash into a power pole and fire hydrant, destroying both near the intersection.

Emergency responders transported all three occupants of the Toyota to Kern Medical, with two sustaining major injuries and the third suffering minor injuries. The four occupants of the Mini Cooper were reportedly uninjured in the crash.

Authorities are investigating whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision.

The investigation remains ongoing.
