[01-12-2025] Woman Fatally Struck by SUV in Crosswalk in LivingstonA female pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing at a crosswalk in Livingston on Sunday afternoon, January 12, 2025.

According to Livingston Police Chief Frederick Schiff, officers responded at approximately 4:23 p.m. to reports of a pedestrian hit near North Main Street and Davis Street. 

Upon arrival, officers located an adult female pedestrian who was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released.

Witnesses reported that the woman was crossing within the marked crosswalk when she was struck by a Honda Pilot SUV. The driver, a 56-year-old woman, was making a left turn onto southbound North Main Street from Davis Street at the time of the incident.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses to determine the exact circumstances of the crash.

Police have stated that drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision.

The investigation is ongoing.
