A motorist sustained severe injuries in a hit-and-run collision in Long Beach on Thursday afternoon, December 26, 2024.
The Long Beach Police Department reported that the crash occurred around 4:45 p.m. near California Avenue and San Antonio Drive.
A tan Toyota Avalon was traveling eastbound on San Antonio Drive when it ran a red light at California Avenue and struck the victim’s car.
The driver of the Toyota briefly exited the vehicle before getting back in and fleeing the scene.
The victim initially declined medical assistance at the scene but later sought treatment at a hospital for injuries sustained during the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
