A motorist sustained injuries in a hit-and-run collision on the southbound Interstate 215 off-ramp at Columbia Avenue in Riverside on Tuesday morning, December 31, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. when a sedan collided with another vehicle while exiting the freeway. The impact caused the sedan to crash through a guardrail and knock down several signs.
The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene. No description of the fleeing vehicle is currently available.
Riverside Fire Department personnel arrived promptly and transported the injured motorist to Riverside Community Hospital for treatment of minor to moderate injuries.
CHP officers are actively searching for the driver involved in the hit-and-run. The investigation is ongoing.
