![[01-01-2025] One Killed, Three Critically Injured After Suspected DUI Crash on Ming Avenue in Southwest Bakersfield](https://ak1.to//K9pxo.webp)
A man was killed, and three others were critically injured in a single-vehicle crash on Ming Avenue in southwest Bakersfield early New Year’s Day, January 1, 2025.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the crash occurred around 1:10 a.m. when a Hyundai sedan traveling west on Ming Avenue veered off the roadway and struck a traffic signal pole at the intersection of Westholme Boulevard.
The vehicle carried four occupants, including two men and two women. One man was pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining three occupants were transported to a hospital in critical condition.
The roadway was closed in all directions until approximately 5:00 a.m.
Police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
