A 69-year-old man using a walker to cross Skyline Drive in Encanto, San Diego, was fatally struck by a vehicle late Saturday night, December 28, 2024.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the man was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk near O’Farrell Charter School shortly after 11:05 p.m. when he was hit by a westbound 2023 Hyundai Sonata driven by a 27-year-old man.
The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene before he could be transported to a hospital. Authorities confirmed that neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the collision.
The identity of the deceased man has not been released. The San Diego Police Department is investigating the incident, and no further details are currently available.
