[12-25-2024] Motorcycle Passenger Severely Injured in Crash on Phelan RoadA female passenger on a motorcycle sustained severe head injuries following a crash in Phelan, San Bernardino County, on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 9:25 p.m. on Phelan Road near Anderson Ranch Road.

Authorities stated that the collision involved a black motorcycle and an older model Honda Civic. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound when the motorcycle attempted to pass another vehicle on its left. The Civic, which had its turn signal activated, began turning left onto Anderson Ranch Road and clipped the motorcycle, causing the rider to lose control.

Both the male rider and his female passenger were ejected from the motorcycle. The female passenger suffered traumatic head injuries and was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center by Mercy Air 22, which landed at a nearby Stater Bros grocery store.

The male rider sustained non-critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
