An 18-year-old man sustained a broken arm after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric bicycle in a bike lane on Del Mar Heights Road in the North City neighborhood of San Diego on Tuesday night, December 10, 2024.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision occurred at approximately 9:12 p.m. when a motorist entered the bike lane and struck the cyclist at the 5800 block of Del Mar Heights Road. The impact caused the cyclist to fall off his bike.
The victim was transported to a hospital with a broken left humerus. Authorities confirmed that the driver did not stop and was last seen driving westbound on Del Mar Heights Road.
The San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division is investigating the incident.
