![[12-05-2024] Pedestrian Killed by Speeding Vehicle on Nimitz Boulevard in Point Loma](https://ak1.to//h5RhR.webp)
A pedestrian was fatally struck by a speeding vehicle while crossing Nimitz Boulevard in Point Loma, San Diego, early Thursday morning, December 5, 2024.
The collision occurred at approximately 5:00 a.m. when the pedestrian was hit by what is believed to be a BMW.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the BMW may have sustained damage to its front passenger door and was reportedly speeding alongside two other vehicles, possibly a Dodge Charger and a white Mustang. All three vehicles fled the scene.
The abandoned BMW was later discovered by U.S. Naval Base Police on Canon Street near Del Mar Avenue.
Southbound lanes of Nimitz Boulevard were closed at West Point Loma Boulevard as authorities conducted their investigation.
Police have not yet released additional information about the victim.
