[11-18-2024] Woman and Officer Injured After Pursuit Crash Involving Wrong-Way Driver on I-15 in VictorvilleA pursuit of a wrong-way driver on Interstate 15 in Victorville ended with a crash that injured a CHP officer and an innocent woman on Monday evening, November 18, 2024. 

CHP officers from the Barstow Area office pursued a white Toyota sedan linked to theft and felony warrants. The suspect led officers southbound on I-15 at speeds exceeding 100 mph before exiting on Mojave Drive, re-entering the highway, and driving southbound in the northbound lanes.

A CHP officer traveling northbound intentionally rammed the suspect vehicle, traveling about 70 mph on the right shoulder. The collision occurred just north of the Palmdale Road overpass.

An innocent woman sitting in her van near the scene was struck and sustained injuries, requiring air ambulance transport to a nearby trauma center. The CHP officer suffered minor injuries.

Both suspects in the fleeing vehicle were taken into custody at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
