A 78-year-old man was hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision that damaged a fire hydrant and a Guitar Center in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
The crash occurred around 1:25 p.m. at 4300 N. Calhoun Ave., near Ventura Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Reports indicate that the impact of the crash caused the fire hydrant to break, with water reportedly hitting the roof of the Guitar Center located at 14209 Ventura Blvd. This resulted in a partial roof collapse.
The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety was notified for a building evaluation, fire officials said.
No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
