A pedestrian sustained significant injuries in a hit-and-run incident in San Jacinto on Thursday evening, October 24, 2024.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported the incident occurred at 7:29 p.m. on Midway Street, west of San Jacinto Avenue.
Upon arrival, deputies found an unresponsive male on the road’s shoulder. Preliminary investigations revealed the victim was walking westbound when he was struck by a vehicle traveling in the same direction.
The vehicle, described as a smaller passenger-type car of unknown color, failed to stop and fled the scene, turning north onto Santa Fe Avenue.
The victim was stabilized at the scene before being transported to a local hospital, where he is currently listed in critical condition.
