[10-28-2024] Man Arrested for Felony Drunk Driving After Accident Injures Two Women in Taft A man was jailed for felony drunk driving after a traffic accident that sent two women to the hospital in Taft on Monday afternoon, October 28, 2024.

According to the authorities, the crash occurred at around 4:30 p.m. at Wood Street and Naylor Avenue.

Authorities stated that the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Eduardo D. of Taft, was driving a compact car that collided with a four-door sedan, which had a driver and a front-seat passenger.

The impact caused the sedan to crash into a fence, and Kern County firefighters had to use hydraulic extrication tools to free the two women from the vehicle.

Both women were transported by ambulance to a Bakersfield hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

The suspect remained in custody at the Kern County Jail in Lerdo with a bail set at $20,000 as of Tuesday morning. He was not injured in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
