A fatal hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian was reported in Modesto early Sunday morning, October 27, 2024.
According to the Modesto Police Department, officers responded to a report of a pedestrian crash at the intersection of Paradise Road and Leon Avenue shortly after 2:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found an unidentified male pedestrian lying dead in the roadway. Witnesses told investigators that a black sedan struck the pedestrian, then fled the scene westbound on Paradise Road.
The pedestrian was reportedly crossing Paradise Road northbound at Leon Avenue when the vehicle collided with him.
