A toddler and two adults were injured after a hit-and-run collision in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night, October 20, 2024.
Units from the Los Angeles Fire Department and Los Angeles Police Department Central Division responded to a reported two-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of 6th and San Pedro streets at around 10:18 p.m.
First responders found a gray Volkswagen vehicle with moderate damage in the center of the intersection and a black Tesla sedan that had collided with a construction site. The Volkswagen was carrying a woman, who was apparently a grandmother, and her granddaughter, who was two years old.
According to LAFD spokesperson Margaret Stewart, the woman and toddler were sent to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. LAFD also evaluated another unidentified adult patient at the scene, but the patient refused transportation.
The Tesla driver fled from the scene. No other information is available at this time.
