One person is dead after a big rig crash on westbound Interstate 10 in Thousand Palms, Riverside County, on Wednesday evening, October 9, 2024.
All westbound lanes between Monterey Avenue (Exit 131) and Ramon Road (Exit 130) are currently closed due to the incident.
As of 6:35 p.m., SigAlert reported westbound traffic at speeds as low as 15 mph near Washington Street, with speeds dropping to as low as 1 mph near Monterey Avenue.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
