A female pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in San Jose on Tuesday evening, October 1, 2024.
According to the San Jose Police Department, the crash occurred at 6:31 p.m. at the intersection of South Fifth and East Fernando streets.
A male driver of a 2018 silver Nissan Sentra struck the woman while she was in the crosswalk. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and succumbed a few days later, officials reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
