Five people, including two young children, were hospitalized after a crash involving a suspected DUI wrong-way driver on the 73 Toll Road near Irvine on early Sunday morning, October 6, 2024.
The crash occurred around midnight when a Toyota Camry driver traveling the wrong way collided with a southbound Lincoln MKZ north of Campus Drive.
Among the injured were two young children, their mother, and the driver and passenger of the Lincoln MKZ, all of whom sustained significant injuries and were taken to the hospital, according to CHP Officer Alexander Stirling.
The driver of the Camry was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Further details on the crash are not currently available.
