A motorcyclist sustained moderate injuries following a collision with an alleged drunk driver on Hillard Street in Taft on Thursday evening, October 3, 2024.
Taft Police reported that the crash occurred at about 7:10 p.m. when 70-year-old Lonnie N., driving a northbound GMC pickup, swerved into the southbound lanes near Kern Street and struck the southbound motorcycle.
The driver was arrested at the scene and charged with felony drunk driving causing injuries and felony driving with a blood alcohol level over .08%.
