A single-vehicle rollover crash near Griffith Park, Los Angeles, left one person dead and three others injured on Sunday morning, September 29, 2024.
The crash occurred around 12:50 a.m. at the connector road from the eastbound Ventura (134) Freeway to the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A white sedan was found overturned, partially blocking the slow lane. The vehicle was reportedly “cut apart by fire.”
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while paramedics transported three others to the hospital—one in grave condition and two in critical condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to free two passengers trapped inside the vehicle, while another individual involved managed to get out on their own.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
