[09-10-2024] Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle at Socol Avenue and Third StreetA pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Socol Avenue and Third Street in downtown Napa on Tuesday morning, September 10, 2024.

Napa police and firefighters responded to the scene at approximately 5:40 a.m., but despite their efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the intersection. 

The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to Lt. Keri Sedgley.

The intersection was closed to all traffic from 6 a.m. until 10:20 a.m. as police conducted their investigation. A tipped-over shopping cart, bags, and other personal items were found at the scene.

The Napa County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau also responded, and the Napa police accident reconstruction team is investigating the cause of the collision.

There is no additional information immediately available.
