Westbound Highway 12 in Santa Rosa was closed to all traffic following a fatal crash involving several vehicles around noon on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred between Fulton and Stony Point roads, prompting the closure of westbound Highway 12.
At least six vehicles were involved in the collision, including a Honda CR-V and a Mercedes-Benz SUV, both of which had tires knocked off due to the impact.
Details regarding the number of fatalities, injuries, or additional vehicles involved have not yet been released. The Santa Rosa Fire Department referred to the scene as a mass casualty incident.
Crews from the fire department and CHP, along with medical personnel, are currently on the scene.
