[08-28-2024] Motorcyclist Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle on Commonwealth Avenue in FullertonA motorcycle driver was struck and killed by a vehicle in Fullerton on Wednesday afternoon, August 28, 2024.

According to the Fullerton Police Department, the incident occurred around 3:11 p.m. when a white SUV traveling eastbound on West Commonwealth Avenue attempted a U-turn at North Basque Avenue, causing westbound traffic to stop abruptly. 

The motorcyclist, traveling westbound on Commonwealth Avenue, attempted to avoid the stopped vehicles but was ejected into oncoming eastbound traffic. The rider was then struck by a Toyota RAV4.

Fullerton Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. His identity will be released by the Orange County Coroner after notifying the next of kin.

A 47-year-old driver of the RAV4 remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The police stated that drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision.

There is no additional information immediately available.
