A pedestrian was injured after a hit-and-run DUI crash in Downtown Long Beach late Friday night, August 23, 2024.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the incident occurred around 11:53 p.m. while officers were at the scene of another crash.
Officials said they witnessed the driver hit the pedestrian in the crosswalk and then flee the scene.
The authorities quickly followed the vehicle, pulling it over about a block away. A 34-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit-and-run.
Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
