A three-vehicle collision resulted in the death of a 76-year-old man in Foothill Farms, Sacramento County, on Friday afternoon, August 23, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 2:40 p.m. on Elkhorn Boulevard, east of Andrea Boulevard.
Authorities stated that a pickup truck driver traveling east failed to notice a van in front of him and rear-ended it. The impact caused the van to strike a pole. The driver of the van was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries the following day.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Charles B., 76, of Sacramento.
The collision also involved a sedan that was in front of the van and heading in the same direction. The pickup truck and sedan drivers were unharmed.
