Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash on Highway 85 in San Jose on Monday afternoon, August 26, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. near Santa Teresa Avenue when a pickup truck collided head-on with a Tesla.
The driver of the Tesla, a 47-year-old woman, and her passenger, a 14-year-old boy, both from San Jose, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck, a 39-year-old man from Orlando, Florida, was hospitalized with major injuries.
It is currently unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. There is no additional information immediately available.
