A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in San Jose on Thursday evening, August 22, 2024.
The incident occurred around 8:50 p.m. at the intersection of Automation Parkway and Hostetter Road in the city’s Gordy neighborhood.
According to the San Jose Police Department, the pedestrian, identified only as a man, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release the man’s identity once it is confirmed and his next of kin is notified.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
