[08-16-2024] 12-Year-Old Cyclist Injured After E-Bike Collision at Fallon Road Intersection in DublinA 12-year-old cyclist was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after his electric bicycle was struck by a vehicle at a prominent intersection in Dublin during the morning commute on Friday, August 16, 2024.

According to Dublin Police Services Capt. Miguel Campos, the incident occurred just after 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Fallon Road and Gleason Drive. Officers responded to a report of a juvenile being hit by a motor vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed that the 12-year-old boy was riding an e-bike westbound within the crosswalk of Fallon Road and Gleason Drive when he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound on Fallon Road.

The boy, who was wearing a helmet, sustained minor abrasions and was taken to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland for treatment.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Police have not released the names of the driver or the boy as the investigation continues. Capt. Campos stated that drugs or alcohol did not appear to be factors in the collision.

Dublin police are actively investigating the cause of the crash.
