At least one person was injured after a towing vehicle struck a light pole in Chiriaco Summit, Riverside County, on Monday morning, August 12, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 11:47 a.m. at the bottom of an eastbound I-10 freeway off-ramp.
CHP said a vehicle towing a pickup with a camper veered off the freeway and struck a light pole nearby. The impact left the vehicles wrapped around the pole on the right-hand shoulder of the road.
All occupants were able to exit the vehicles safely. Emergency responders, including a towing agency, medics, and multiple CHP units, were dispatched to the scene.
The extent of the injuries remains unclear, and it is unknown if any additional injuries were reported.
CHP is currently investigating the incident.
