[08-11-2024] Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck by Hit-And-Run Vehicle Along Broad StreetA pedestrian was injured after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in San Luis Obispo on Sunday night, August 11, 2024.

According to the San Luis Obispo Police Department, the incident occurred at about 10:19 p.m. at the corner of Broad Street and Orcutt Road.

The circumstances surrounding the pedestrian vs. vehicle hit-and-run crash remain unclear. This includes the make or model of the car involved and what the pedestrian was doing along the roadway at the time of the incident. 

Witnesses who captured videos of the aftermath described seeing the injured victim bloodied when they were loaded into the ambulance as police cars and medical crews responded to the scene. The victim is now in stable condition, says SLOPD. Authorities have yet to provide the identity of the injured pedestrian.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time. No official description of the hit-and-run driver and the suspect vehicle has been released.
