A cyclist was killed after a bicycle vs. vehicle hit-and-run collision in Los Angeles on Friday noon, August 2, 2024.
According to the responding officers, the crash happened just before noon on W. 63rd Street near Overhill Drive in Hyde Park neighborhood.
Authorities stated that a man in his 40s was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a vehicle. The cyclist sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name and place of origin were not yet immediately disclosed by the responding officers.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle that struck the cyclist fled the scene and is still at large. It is unclear whether drugs, alcohol, or speeding played a role.
