[08-01-2024] Orange County, CA – 25-Year-Old Female Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle in Santa Ana

A 25-year-old female pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Santa Ana on Thursday afternoon, August 1, 2024.

According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the fatal accident occurred just before 1:00 p.m. on MacArthur Boulevard and Birch Street.

Investigators stated that the female pedestrian was walking eastbound at a crosswalk when she was struck by an unspecified vehicle traveling southbound on Birch Street. The vehicle was attempting to turn left onto MacArthur Boulevard from Birch Street when the incident happened, said the SAPD.

Police officers responded to the scene with the Orange County Fire Authority. Upon arrival, they found the woman unconscious along the roadway. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after. Further information about the victim’s identity will be released following the notification of her family.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Officers said that alcohol or drug impairment was not a factor in the crash.
