INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT?

[07-31-2024] Shasta County, CA – Two Teenage Girls Seriously Injured After Being Struck by Vehicle in Redding

Two teenage girls were seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Redding on Wednesday morning, July 31, 2024.

According to the Redding Police Department, the pedestrian vs. vehicle collision happened at about 5:51 a.m. on Shasta View Drive and Hawn Avenue.

Police stated that 20-year-old Jesse B. from Redding was driving northbound on Shasta View Drive when he suddenly became distracted by something, causing his vehicle to leave his lane and veer into the shoulder of the roadway. During this, his vehicle struck two teenage girls, ages 13 and 14.

RPD said that both juveniles were walking on the east side of the road when they were hit by the vehicle being driven by Jesse B. Both sustained injuries, with one of them described as major. 

It is still unclear if the driver sustained any injuries in the incident. No arrests have been announced yet.

Additional information was not immediately available, and the authorities are still gathering all the necessary details to determine the factors leading to the crash.
