A woman was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in San Diego on Thursday morning, August 1, 2024.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision happened around 3:00 a.m. in the 2800 block of National Avenue at 28th Street in the Logan Heights neighborhood.
Police said that a woman was on the crosswalk, walking eastbound on National Avenue to meet her boyfriend. For some reason, a white pickup truck struck her, fled the scene, and continued southbound on 28th Street. The woman was immediately transported to UC San Diego Medical Center but died after the arrival.
Authorities described the hit-and-run vehicle as a white Chevrolet or GMC pickup truck with an extended cab. The suspect remains at large.
The crash remains under investigation. No additional details were provided.
