Injuries are still being examined following a multi-vehicle crash in Elk Grove on Wednesday morning, July 31, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the traffic collision happened at about 6:26 a.m. on southbound Highway 99 near Sheldon Road.
The circumstances of the accident remain unclear, but CHP officers stated that at least five unspecified vehicles were involved. The total number of people affected, including the extent of the injuries possibly sustained, was also unavailable.
Drugs, alcohol, and speeding are currently being investigated as possible factors in the crash.
