[07-25-2024] Multiple People Injured After Police Pursuit Led To Several Collisions in Union CityMultiple people were injured after a police pursuit led to several collisions in Union City on Thursday morning, July 25, 2024.

According to the Union City Police Department, the crashes occurred after 8:15 a.m. along Tamarack Drive and westbound Decoto Road.

UCPD stated that they received reports of a stolen vehicle around Tamarack Drive and Mission Boulevard. Upon arriving at the scene, the suspect had already driven away with the stolen car, prompting a pursuit.

As the suspect was fleeing the police, their vehicle collided with the outside of a Union City business. The vehicle plowed through the business’ outside tables and chairs, causing heavy damage. UCPD confirmed that no one was hurt from the first crash.

After that, a police officer reported seeing the suspect approaching an intersection. Upon seeing the chasing police vehicles, the suspect drove in the opposite direction on Decoto Road. UCPD said the stolen vehicle struck another car as it was driving the wrong way, leading to a three-way collision.

Passengers from one of the cars involved were hospitalized after sustaining unspecified injuries. The total number of injured individuals and their identities were not disclosed. All of the victims are expected to survive, as per the authorities.

UCPD confirmed that the suspect who allegedly stole the vehicle and caused several crashes was arrested for various charges. Their name, age, and gender were not immediately provided.

The authorities are still investigating the incident. Police work is underway.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
