One person was killed following a hit-and-run collision in Calexico on Monday morning, July 22, 2024.
According to the Calexico Police Department, the fatal accident happened on Birch Street and Imperial Avenue.
Upon arrival, police found a man down on the street. They said that the victim sustained head injuries as a result of blunt force trauma and was declared dead at the scene by the responding paramedics. Currently, the victim’s name, age, and place of origin were not disclosed.
The hit-and-run suspect is still at large. The police have yet to release an official description of the vehicle involved and its driver. They are actively looking for any surveillance video that can help them find a lead or possibly point them toward the suspect’s current location.
Potential witnesses to the crash are encouraged to contact Calexico law enforcement as soon as possible to help solve the case.
