[07-24-2024] At Least One Person Killed After Two-Vehicle Collision Along 90 Freeway in Culver CityAt least one person was killed after a two-vehicle collision in Culver City late Wednesday night, July 24, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around 11:26 p.m. on the eastbound Marina (90) Freeway and Slauson Avenue on-ramp.

CHP said that an SUV was side-swiped by a white pickup truck while traveling along the 90 Freeway. The impact of the crash pushed the SUV to a nearby electric pole, causing significant damage to both cars involved and at least one fatality.

The responding Culver City Fire Department pronounced at least one person dead at the scene. It is still unclear if the deceased was aboard the SUV or the pickup truck. After their family is notified, further information about the victim’s identity will be released.

The total number of people involved in the crash and the possibility of drugs, alcohol, or speeding as a factor was not immediately known.

CHP is still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
