INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT?

[07-22-2024] San Luis Obispo County, CA – Two People Killed, One Seriously Injured After Two-Vehicle Head-On Crash in Templeton

Two people were killed, and one was seriously injured after a two-vehicle head-on crash in San Luis Obispo County on Monday, just after midnight, July 22, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 12:03 a.m. along Highway 46 in Templeton, about four miles east of Highway 41.

Authorities stated that a 2020 Hyundai was traveling westbound on the freeway and crossed into the eastbound lane to pass the tractor-trailer in front of them. As they crossed over, the vehicle collided head-on with a Ford F350 approaching eastbound at an unknown speed. 

The driver and the passenger of the Hyundai were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names, ages, and genders are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford, whose identity was not also disclosed, suffered major injuries. 

The CHP is investigating the cause of the incident. Authorities said that driver impairment is not suspected to be a contributing factor.
