[07-17-2024] 53-Year-Old Man Killed Following Industrial Accident in Bakersfield A 53-year-old man was killed following an industrial accident in Bakersfield on Wednesday morning, July 17, 2024. 

According to the Kern County Coroner’s Office, the fatal incident happened around 8:00 a.m. in the 3600 block of Pegasus Drive. 

Authorities stated that 53-year-old Kennet Jay S. of Manteca was pronounced dead after he was crushed by a pipe. There is no word yet on how the incident occurred, but the responding officials confirmed that he was working at the time he died. 

The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (CAL/OSHA) and Kern County Fire were investigating the case. As of this writing, the investigators are gathering all the necessary evidence to determine the official cause of the accident. 

Investigations are ongoing. 

Witnesses are encouraged to come forward and share what they know about the incident.
