[07-19-2024] 41-Year-Old Female Pedestrian Killed Following Hit-And-Run Collision in Florence-GrahamA 41-year-old female pedestrian was killed following a hit-and-run collision in south Los Angeles early Friday morning, July 19, 2024.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal crash happened around 12:30 a.m. in the Florence-Graham neighborhood’s Central Avenue and 82nd Street intersection.

Witnesses told LAPD that the woman was walking along Central Avenue when she was struck by a dark SUV traveling southbound on the same roadway. The SUV driver reportedly did not stop to help the victim and fled the scene.

The victim, only described as a 41-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene by the responding Los Angeles Fire Department personnel. Further information on the identity of the deceased will be made available following the notification of next of kin.

At the time of writing, the LAPD is still searching for the hit-and-run driver. No official description of the at-large suspect has yet been released.

The authorities are still investigating the fatal incident. Drugs and alcohol impairment are currently being examined as possible factors.
