[07-18-2024] Rider Killed, Driver Injured Following Motorcycle Vs. Vehicle Collision in San Jacinto A rider was killed, and a driver was injured following a motorcycle vs. vehicle collision in San Jacinto on Thursday morning, July 18, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 7:40 a.m. at East Seventh and Hewitt streets. 

Authorities stated that the collision involved a motorcycle and a sedan. The rider, whose name, age, and gender were not disclosed, was thrown onto the roadway due to the impact of the crash. Upon the arrival of the paramedics, they pronounced the rider dead at the scene. 

Meanwhile, the driver of the involved vehicle sustained minor injuries but refused to be transported to a hospital for further medical assessment. Their identity and current condition were not also disclosed as of this writing. 

CHP partially closed the intersection to conduct an initial investigation and was reopened shortly after 10:00 a.m. It is unknown whether drugs, alcohol, or speeding played a role in the crash. 

The crash remains under investigation.
