[07-17-2024] One Person Seriously Injured After Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Motorcycle Along I-805 Near North ParkOne person was seriously injured after a multi-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in San Diego on Wednesday morning, July 17, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred shortly after 6:00 a.m. on Interstate 805 near North Park.

CHP said the collision involved an unspecified motorcycle and two vehicles, a Chevrolet Silverado and a Toyota van. Preliminary reports suggest that the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on I-805 near University Avenue when they collided with the Chevy for reasons still unknown. Following the initial crash, the rider lost control of his vehicle, slamming into the Toyota van.

The rider, whose name, age, and gender weren’t released, was rushed to a local hospital for further medical care after sustaining major injuries. Apart from the motorcyclist, no other injuries were reported at this time.

Authorities confirmed that the two drivers involved remained on the scene and fully cooperated with the investigators. The possible involvement of drugs, alcohol, or speeding is currently being investigated.

No further details were immediately available, and the CHP is still gathering all the necessary information to determine the official cause of the accident.
