[07-13-2024] Sacramento County, CA – Four People Hospitalized Following Multi-Vehicle Collision in Antelope

Four people were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle collision in Antelope, Sacramento County, on Saturday afternoon, July 13, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the traffic incident happened around 3:16 p.m. on Daly Avenue and Roseville Road.

CHP said that a white Silverado with a fully loaded trailer in tow was going west on Antelope Road near Roseville Road when an elderly man driving a Toyota SUV suddenly turned into the same lane from southbound Roseville. The elderly driver’s unsafe maneuver resulted in a pileup involving several vehicles.

It is said that the driver of a separate white Toyota reacted poorly to this and drove into the Silverado, which then hit the elderly man’s SUV. After that, the SUV got pushed into two other vehicles, a white Miata and a Toyota Corolla.

The Silverado, which was now going the wrong way, struck a red Tacoma head-on. The crash’s impact then pushed the Tacoma into a Tundra that hit yet another vehicle, an Explorer.

Authorities reported four injuries following the massive pileup. The Tacoma driver sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Three other people reportedly suffered minor injuries, but it was unclear in which vehicles they were respectively prior to the incident.

The official cause of the accident is still under investigation. It is not immediately known if alcohol, drugs, or speeding played a role in it.

No further information was provided at this time.

Don’t Know What To Do After An Accident?

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.
  • Stay on the scene, call 9-1-1, and wait for emergency responders.
  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
