A 12-year-old girl was killed, and nine people were injured following a multi-vehicle collision in south Los Angeles on Friday evening, July 5, 2024.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the crash happened at about 6:15 p.m. in the 600 block of East Century Boulevard near Avalon Boulevard.
Authorities stated that three unspecified vehicles were involved in the collision. A 12-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene, while three other minors and six adults sustained injuries. One of the adults, described as a woman, was in serious condition after being trapped in the vehicle.
All injured individuals were immediately transported to the hospital for further treatment. Additional details on their identities were not disclosed as of this writing. It is unknown how the three vehicles collided with each other or if drugs or alcohol played a role.
Investigators are still investigating the crash.
