INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT?

[07-04-2024] Merced County, CA – Man Killed, Three Others Injured Following Two-Vehicle Collision on Canal School Road

A man was killed, and three others were injured following a two-vehicle collision in Merced County on Thursday afternoon, July 4, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 4:35 p.m. on Canal School Road north of Highway 33. 

Initial investigation showed that a 22-year-old man from Seaside in Monterey County was driving southbound at an unknown speed. For some reason, he crossed over the solid yellow center lines and collided head-on with a car going north. 

Police said that the man was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, three occupants of the other vehicle, a man, a woman, and a 2-year-old child, were transported to a hospital with minor to major injuries. 

As of this writing, the condition of the injured individuals was not disclosed. Drugs and alcohol were ruled out as factors in the crash. 

Authorities are still investigating the incident. 

Anyone with information is asked to come forward and assist with the investigation.
