[07-02-2024] San Diego County, CA – Possible Injuries Reported After Multi-Vehicle Collision Involving Hit-And-Run Along I-15

Possible injuries were reported after a multi-vehicle collision involving a hit-and-run in San Diego County on Tuesday afternoon, July 2, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 1:37 p.m. on I-15 Mission Road before northbound onramp.

Authorities stated that a white work truck crashed into two unspecified vehicles on the freeway. The total number of people involved in the incident was not yet provided, but possible injuries were reported. As of this writing, the condition of the people affected by the collision remains unclear.

Meanwhile, the white work truck driver drove away from the scene without calling the authorities. The suspect’s identity has not been revealed.

Just before the collision, a truck reportedly dumped a large quantity of dust on the roadway, creating hazardous conditions for motorists. As a result, the freeway became extremely slippery, causing at least one vehicle to slide when the driver applied the brakes. The affected vehicle was pulled over at the end of the on-ramp.

At around 1:21 p.m., the CHP officers were notified as the situation had escalated. Authorities were managing the situation, and motorists were advised to avoid the area if possible.

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Investigations are ongoing.

Don’t Know What To Do After An Accident?

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.
  • Stay on the scene, call 9-1-1, and wait for emergency responders.
  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
